Project Management and Implementation
Long periods of time are spent on the analysis
and design process in projects using traditional methods. All the requirements
of the project are tried to be foreseen within this time frame. No matter how
well it is planned, there are deficiencies in software projects. It can cause
problems that need to be done while the project is being run. For all these
reasons, traditional methods are more likely to fail. Agile is a faster and
more efficient form of project management. It focuses on producing the most
valuable output in the shortest time. The most common usage area of Agile is
software development and implementation projects.
Workcube has adopted the Agile approach and
Scrum methodology. It is based on short-cycle output generation and feedback
thinking. The project team is in constant communication. The Project Leader
plans cycles of up to two weeks called “Sprint Planning”. Distributes the work
to be done to the project team. The results of the tasks are returned as
"Backlog". The returned tasks are closed when they are completed
without error, the missing ones are re-entered.
In sprint cycles, the team holds frequent but
short meetings. Within a maximum of 15 minutes, each team member briefly states
his or her progress. These meetings, which are held every day and do not exceed
15 minutes, are called “Daily Scrum Meetings”. Results are regularly tracked on
the "Kanban Board" as follows.
When the sprint is over, a "Sprint
Review" report is issued the problems that arise during the sprint are
eliminated and the next sprint is relieved. The features and functions that are
finished in the sprint can be shown to the customer or customer representative.
Requirements are selected again for newsprint and the sprint life cycle begins
again.
All projects in Workcube are carried out with
Workcube Project Management. Mission stages and categories are key indicators
for tracking mission progress. As a result of the sprint meetings, the tasks
should be updated regularly by the project leader and the team. In summary, the
Agile Project Management approach is a universal approach chosen for Workcube
implementation.
Screen-1: Using Kanban in Workcube Projects
Kanban Board
In Workcube projects, the tasks are tracked on the kanban board. Kanban Board
makes it easy for the project team and client to monitor the project. As you
know, Kanban means board in Japanese. This technique, which enables the works
and stages to be seen in a single dashboard, provides easier and more efficient
management of software and consultancy projects. Kanban, which is one of the
tools of Workcube PMS - Project Management System, means an online work board.
Warning
In all Workcube projects, it is mandatory to use the special intranet provided
by Workcube for project management.
